Hope Filled Hearts 4 Africa
Hope Filled Hearts 4 Africa is committed to reducing mother and infant mortality and morbidity rates in Uganda, Africa. Their goal is to provide a clean, safe, and loving environment for birth where women are treated with dignity, respect, and the love of Jesus and to improve the prenatal, birth, and postpartum care given to women.
They also provide desperately needed medical care for EVERYONE who comes to them, regardless of their ability to pay. Their goal is to serve the most impoverished and marginalized men, women, and children who lack basic medical care and otherwise might face death without help.
Mike Van Deren, owner of Phoenix Air Conditioning & Heating, is passionate about this ministry. He currently resides on the Hearts 4 Africa Board of Directors and contributes his time and resources visiting the facility in Uganda. His personal involvement has not only brought financial support but also inspired other members of the community to get involved.
Kids Around the World
1 in 7 kids in the world suffers from the effects of food insecurity, living in a chronic state of malnutrition. Kids Around the World, a nonprofit charity, oversees an incredible food program that ensures tens of thousands of impoverished kids have a warm, nutritious meal EACH DAY.
The Phoenix team participates in meal-packing events by donating money to purchase the food and volunteering to pack meals. These meals are then distributed to impoverished kids throughout the world, providing them with a source of nutrition they might not otherwise have.
Our most recent packing event, in May 2024, included Phoenix Air Conditioning & Heating, Jazel, Pacwest Air Filter, and student-athletes from Orange Lutheran. An amazing 100,000 meals were packed!
Operation Christmas Child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
